Shad Brook Paving SAD
On Monday, April 19 a homeowners' association meeting was held with
the township to discuss costs for creating a Special Assessment
District (SAD) for paving streets within the subdivision. In addition,
the cost of bringing public water into the subdivision was also
discussed. A copy of the presentation is attached below.
The cost for reconstructing the road was estimated to be $11,400
per full benefit. The cost to obtain water service was estimated to be
$11,600 per parcel. If water service is provided, it will be necessary
to sell bond which will increase the road reconstruction to $12,100
per benefit.
A petition to support the paving SAD was provided and is presently
being circulated by the HOA. In order to provide water service, the
township will require sufficient support for the paving SAD and a
significant number of commitments from individual homeowners to
contract for water service prior to initiating the design.

Pressure District Improvements
Elevated Tank, Booster Station and Water Distribution
Northville Township has recently completed improvements for a new
pressure district for an area in the township that previously
experienced low water pressure. This area is generally bounded to the
south by 5 Mile Road, to the east by Sheldon Road, to the north
approximately 1/2 mile north of Six Mile Road, and to the west by
approximately 1/2 mile west of Beck Road. In order to create the new
pressure district, a new elevated water tank, a booster station and
water main distribution system improvements were constructed.
The new $1.7 million water booster station came on line in early
summer and pumps water from the Detroit supply point to the new
pressure district. It also is used to fill the new $1.7 Million water
storage tank located within the Community Park property. The tank came
on line in early July and is used to reduce the amount of water
purchased from Detroit during peak use, thus reducing charges for peak
hour use from the supplier. The tank also reduced the size of the
booster water station and provides some back-up water should the water
supply from Detroit be temporarily suspended.

Hills of Crestwood Detention Basin
Maintenance
Northville Township has been requested by the Hills of Crestwood
Homeowner Association to assist in the maintenance of their detention
pond. All homeowners in the association will receive a one time
assessment for the management, engineering and construction cost
associated with the project. The assessment will be placed on the
winter tax bill at project completion.
The $40,000 construction contract was awarded to Anglin Civil
Constructors in April and work has recently been completed. Project
restoration and cleanup is underway
