Attempted Home Invasion

On June 15, 2018 the Northville Township Police Department received a report of an unknown male suspect attempting to gain access to homes between 2:30-3am. The attempted home invasions occurred in the neighborhoods off of Six Mile (between Sheldon and Beck).

Home video footage showed a male wearing all dark clothing and a ski mask over his face and gloves and was also the same area trying to gain access by turning door knobs. At this time there is no indication the male successfully entered a home.

The Northville Township Police Department takes these types of incidents seriously. Attempted Home Invasion is a felony punishable by a term of imprisonment.

The Northville Township Police Department requests that residents report all suspicious persons, vehicles, noises and circumstances immediately to the police department. Additional protective measures include locking all doors to the residence and locking car doors. Please leave exterior lights on during the hours of darkness.

We would like to thank the residents that provided us their video footage and ask that the community to review their home surveillance cameras for similar instances and report any findings to the police department immediately.

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call the Northville Township Police at 248.349.9400. The Northville Township Police Department will have additional patrols in the neighborhoods.
