CVS Armed Robbery at 5 and Sheldon

On September 8, 2018, at approximately 9:40pm, an armed robbery occurred at the CVS Pharmacy located at 44300 Five Mile Road, in Northville Township. The subject produced a handgun and demanded money from the clerk.

The suspect was wearing red and black clothing, a hood, mask and gloves. The store was open however no customers were inside. There were no injuries reported.

Responding police officers encountered the suspect fleeing the store and chased the suspect on foot into a wooded area where they lost sight of him.

A perimeter was set up in the area of Five Mile Rd. and Sheldon Rd. where the suspect was last seen. Livonia Police and Novi Police assisted with a K9 search of the area which was unsuccessful in locating the suspect. Michigan State Police Aviation assisted with an area search using infrared cameras. Additional assistance was provided by the City of Northville, City of Plymouth, Canton Township and Plymouth Township Police Departments.

The suspect was seen a second time in the area of Five Mile and Sheldon Rd. some hours later; this time he was shirtless. Additional efforts with K9 searches and assistance from the same neighboring police agencies were unsuccessful in apprehending the suspect.

Evidence was located and collected during the investigation and is being evaluated.

The suspect’s method of operation is similar to the CVS armed robbery in Northville Township on September 4, 2018 and is believed to be related to other armed robberies in the area. Northville Township Police will continue to work together with our law enforcement partners in the area on this multijurisdictional investigation.

Residents in the area of Five Mile Rd. and Sheldon Rd. are asked to review their home surveillance recordings for anything suspicious that may be related to this incident and contact Northville Township Police if something is found.
