Position Announcement

REPORTS TO: Parks & Facilities Supervisor

SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Under the direction of the Parks & Facilities Supervisor, performs a variety of duties in support of park activities and programs. Monitors park usage by vehicle and foot patrol. Provides customer service assistance and interfaces with rental groups. Performs general park maintenance and cleaning duties in parks, park restrooms, and pavilions. Completes daily report and identifies maintenance concerns.

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION: A High School diploma or GED; or any combination of experience and training which meet the minimum qualifications. Must possess a current, valid Michigan Driver’s License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns.
 
EXPERIENCE: Customer service and grounds or facility maintenance experience is preferred. 

SCHEDULE: Hourly, up 20-28 hours/week. Evening and weekend shifts required.

SKILLS: Strong communication skills, ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the general public and with department team members. Ability to critically assess situations, solve problems, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and ability to perform the physical requirements of trash removal and park maintenance duties.
