After booking more than 700 vaccine appointments, Northville Township, the City of Northville and the Wayne County Health Department have opened up the remaining 2,300 appointments to residents age 16 and older with underlying health conditions or to those 50 and older without any conditions.

“Our residents may schedule an appointment today and get a vaccine tomorrow — or next week on Thursday, April 1, if they prefer,” said Mark J. Abbo, Northville Township Supervisor.

The vaccine clinics will be at the VisTaTech Center at Schoolcraft College, 18600 Haggerty Road, Livonia, from 10 am-3:30 pm. Appointments are required. To schedule one:

  • Visit VaccinateNorthville.com for online registration available 24 hours, 7 days a week until appointments are full. Residents must create an account or use an already existing one with Northville Parks and Recreation’s registration software to get an appointment. For directions on the process, visit VaccinateNorthville.com.
  • Call (248) 305-2581 from 10 am-4 pm Monday-Friday or until all appointments are filled. This dedicated COVID-19 vaccination hotline is for assistance in both scheduling and creating an account. Residents are asked to please not call other Northville Township or Northville Departments as they are unable to access the COVID appointment registration software.

“We are excited to open it up to more residents,” said City of Northville Mayor Brian Turnbull. “Our priority for vaccinations in Northville was especially our valued seniors and our Northvillian’s ages 50 and older. We feel confident we’ve accomplished scheduling for these segments, so as of today, we will shift to adhering to the state of Michigan’s guidelines to provide appointments for those 16 and up with any condition.”

While Schoolcraft is a Moderna-designated vaccine site, Friday’s manufacturer may be the one-dose Johnson & Johnson (Janssen, the pharmaceutical arm of Johnson & Johnson) manufactured vaccine. It depends on what the state delivers Friday morning.

“We recognize that some of our residents want to know what manufacturer they are receiving while booking the appointment, but because of supply issues, we are urging residents to be flexible,” said Todd L. Mutchler, Northville Township Manager and Director of Public Safety. “As Dr. Anthony Fauci said, ‘Take that vaccine rather than waiting for another vaccine, because all three of them are highly efficacious.’”

Residents should visit VaccinateNorthville.com and the Northville Township Facebook page @TwpNorthville for updates on the vaccine manufacturer.
