Our Program & Services
- Education and Awareness
We offer programs, workshops, classes and events that create awareness of and teach life skills on a variety of topics related to healthy mind and body practices including; decision-making, goal-setting, and values identification, mindfulness and stress reduction, anxiety/depression awareness and support, self-esteem and peer pressure, substance use (drugs, alcohol, vaping, tobacco/nicotine), social media use and many more.
- Leadership Development Opportunities
All kids have the capacity to lead! They learn so much about themselves and the world around them when they step into leadership roles and provide service to others. NYN provides opportunities that allow youth to grow their capacity to impact their schools and community in a positive way and learn so much about themselves in the process.
- School Connection and Transition Programs
We partner with Northville Public Schools to offer programs designed to strengthen the positive connection of youth to their peers, teacher and school settings as they move along their academic journeys and develop the competence and confidence necessary to maximize their educational experiences.
- Youth Assistance Program
We support NPS school personnel responding to discipline and behavior issues as well as local law enforcement agencies through juvenile court diversion services by providing youth with an individualized strength-based approach to reduce antisocial behaviors and increase positive decision-making skills.
Sometimes, kids handle situations or make decisions that lead to less than desirable outcomes. These situations are often just a part of growing up. NYN supports NPS school personnel responding to discipline and behavior issues as well as local law enforcement agencies through juvenile court diversion services by providing youth with an individualized strength-based approach to reduce antisocial behaviors. Our staff provides non-judgmental support to participants as they learn positive decision-making and risk reduction strategies.
- Resource Referral Services
Beginning the journey of seeking mental health support for your child or youth in your care can be daunting. NYN provides comprehensive referral services to parents/caregivers to various local community resources including counseling centers, support groups, substance use programs, crisis centers, and other youth and family support services. We help guide parents/caregivers as they navigate this journey toward securing appropriate care for their kids.
If you are a parent/caregiver seeking information on or a referral to a community resource please contact NYN at 248-344-1618.
- Case Management Services
Sometimes we all need a little extra support to navigate a challenging situation beyond simply providing a referral. NYN provides youth the opportunity to work one-on one with a staff member on a short-term basis for guidance and support to work through an issue and to develop an individual support plan that utilizes a variety of community resources for continued support.
If you are a parent/caregiver and would like to refer a youth for more in-depth support please contact NYN at 248-344-1618.
