Community policing emphasizes working with neighborhood residents to co-produce public safety. 

Consistent with best practice recommendations from the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing, Northville Township Police Officers are assigned to the same patrol zones for six months periods. This reinforces authentic and routine engagement through proactive patrols in each zone.

In total, our officers conducted 14,480 proactive patrols in 2023, as outlined in the map below.
