Northville Township, MI
Home MenuAbout Northville
Why is Northville Township a great place to live?
- We have great neighborhoods. We’re a suburban oasis with beautiful homes, subdivisions and neighbors. It’s a great place to raise a family.
- We value our green space. It is a nod to our rural heritage. What was once a quaint farming region is today a thriving residential and business community.
- Our great school system. Northville graduates are among the top scholarship earners in Michigan. We perform above average on standardized tests.
- Top-notch parks! We have five large parks, two dog parks – including the area’s first dog agility course – and we have a state park in our borders. Maybury State Park is beautiful in itself, but it also has a working farm (Maybury Farm), horse riding stables and track chair, which allows those with mobility issues to explore the park. Hines Park, complete with disc golf, also meanders through our community.
- We have walkable pathways and nature trails, along with plenty of soccer and baseball fields, to accommodate active residents. Golf is a beloved sport, too, with Meadowbrook Country Club and Northville Hills Golf Club located here. Movement is important to our community.
- We surround the beautiful Victorian city of Northville. It has a walkable downtown that is easily accessible to us.
- We are a good neighbor. We have a terrific relationship with the City of Northville and share services with them, including the Library and Parks & Recreation. We are also friendly with Plymouth, Plymouth Township, Canton Township and Livonia.
- Our Township Fire Department and Police Department are top notch!
- Fire Department fun fact: A person who experiences cardiac arrest (specifically ventricular fibrillation (VFIB) arrests) in Northville Township has a survival rate that is five times greater than if that VFIB occurred elsewhere in the state or nation. Our Fire Department has achieved this by implementing the best practices used across the world, including high-performance CPR.
- Police Department fun fact: The Northville Township Police Department achieved one of law enforcement’s most prestigious designations this summer: accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA). This important designation verifies the Department meets or excels at best practices of law enforcement standards.
Concurrently, the Department also achieved the CALEA Public Safety Communications Accreditation, a separate process but just as rigorous. Northville Township is one of two public safety answering points (PSAP) in the state out of 136 such call centers to achieve this accreditation.
- The Township is safe. Only 607 part A crimes occurred in 2020, down 14.02% over 2019. Only 212 part B crimes occurred in 2020, down 40.28%.
- We are filled with excellent restaurants and shopping, including Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse, Rocky’s of Northville, Deadwood Grill, P.F. Changs, REI, Cantoro Italian Market, Running Fit, Barnes & Noble and Trader Joe’s.
- We are business friendly. High-tech business love our Township. CW Bearing, ZF and Hella are some that call Northville Township home.
- Great highway access – we are centrally located near three freeways, I-275, M-14 and I-96.
- We are forward-thinking. With our master plan, we have future prospects on the horizon.
The Charter Township of Northville is a vibrant, safe and attractive community. The perfect place to live, work and play!
