  1. Building/Compliance permit application filled out.

    • Provide % of lot coverage of all structures on the application and must adhere to the Accessory Structure Ordinance

    • Provide height of proposed structure to the mid-point of the roof to the floor, maximum is 14’ to the mid-point of the roof, see accessory structure ordinance link here: Accessory Structure Ordinance

  2. $25 check application fee made out to Northville Township

  3. Builders License

  4. Signed contract between homeowner and contractor with cost of renovation.

  5. Two sets of site plans with measurements clearly marked to the side and rear yard lot lines, grade elevations of the proposed project.

  6. Two sets of construction drawings

    • To include construction details but not limited to – foundation, walls, beams, headers, rafters and or truss drawings. 

NOTE - It is the responsibility of the Applicant to comply with any and all HOA requirements

NOTE - The building/zoning application and above documents will be reviewed by our plan review staff. Once approved, permit fees and a refundable bond will be billed to the contractor/homeowner. After fees are paid, the building department will issue the permit and work can begin. At this point, the trades will be able to apply for any mechanical, electrical and plumbing permits as necessary.
