The roads in Northville Township are either private or public.  Wayne County maintains ALL public roads.  This means they maintain by filling potholes, correct safety issues, pick up dead deer or any other road issue.  Northville Township does not have a roads division.  Private roads are usually maintained by the homeowner's association or by agreements in place with a group of homeowner's.  If you are unsure on whether your road is public or private.  Reference our street map here.

• If a tree is felled over a road and creates a safety hazard, contact our police department at 248-349-9400. 
• To report a dead or felled tree along a pathway or public space, contact 248-348-5819. 
• If a tree is dead on private property, it is the responsibility of the owner to remove the tree.  A permit is not required when an existing home occupies a lot, unless otherwise required as part of the deed restrictions or homeowner's association.

Examples of illicit discharges are sanitary wastewater (sewage); septic tank waste, car wash, laundry & industrial wastewaters, improper disposal of auto and household toxins such as motor oil or pesticides, spills on roadways, and direct connection to storm sewer, drain or ditch within State or County road right-of-ways.
